Truer words have probably never been spoken... nonetheless, last night I gave it a go and made Dallen our first real (not including soup, minute rice, or cardboard pizza) dinner since we've been married; I'm talking about a legitimate meal! I know what you're thinking, "
So I went to the store, called my mom, and got all the things I needed to make chicken and dumplings, my favorite :) “Not fair,” you say? Don’t worry, I also made brownies… HIS favorite.
It was DELICIOUS, tasted almost how mom makes it! I don't know how it happened, somewhere between panic, smoke, and repeating the words "I hate this," "this doesn't look right," and "honey, how do you feel about pizza instead?" It all came together.
I feel like the adventure of our first meal is alot like life here: I call my mom and ask her what to do constantly, I cant tell you how many times I've said the words "I hate this" in the last 2 weeks, It started out a COMPLETE disaster, annnnd... I don't know how it’s going to turn out; I just go step by step and hope its alright.
Right now, we're in a tiny studio. I think we're getting the hang of the heat mostly because we have ZERO dollars to spend on gas, food, or fun so we stay inside pretty much all day (except right now the ac is being replaced so we're a little sweaty), Dallen plays play-station and I've become a complete minesweeper addict/ cockroach killer... yeah, this place is a winner. But there's no one else I would rather be on this adventure with. Dallen is the best, he's so patient with me and keeps it together no matter how bad things get.
We found the house we're most likely going to buy another 4plex *see right. Its pretty nice except we went there the other day and someone went in the shed and pooped. WHO DOES THAT!? Go to a gas station or McDonald's for goodness sake! You know who has to clean that up? Probably me and I'm going to have to get a hazmat suit. But other than that, only some minor things and we got it for a pretty great price.
Everyday things either get a little better or I have a meltdown. We miss our families and friends Dallen especially, now that BYU football is about to start we all know I'm not his first choice of people to talk to about that ;)
So, if you skipped every thing and just looked at the pictures: I made Dallen dinner,
is hot, we're poor, we're buying a poo house, and our only friends are cockroaches. LOVE it ;) Arizona
